*Frank's Vigil: Bulldog Security Team Passes Test*

Sometimes Frank does not feel that his talents on the Bulldog Security Team are appreciated.
One recent evening on Fulton Lane, while Dog/Daddy Steve was attempting a quiet night at home, sipping a cold one and reading and listening to television Frank created an uproar in the back of the yard.
Dog/Daddy Steve went out to the patio and could not determine why Frank was on full alert and would not stop barking and barking. He also would not come on command, just bark, bark. bark. We all know that dachshunds love to bark, but this time it was different.
After a noisy several hours Dog/Daddy Steve just had to take the flashlight and find out what the problem was. Back in the corner of his yard Frank had cornered a baby racoon and would not allow the baby to leave the yard. Yikes, it was his first trapped prisoner and he was taking full advantage of it. The little racoon was trembling, with fear in it's eyes, and could not figure a way out of this dire situation.
Dog/Daddy Steve eventually had to intervene and pick up Frank so that the baby racoon could make it's hasty exit from the yard. Frank felt so defeated; he was finally proving his worth as an attack dog and now his capture was released. What's a dog to do??
Frank had a fitful night back in the house, worrying about his lost prey. Frieda teasingly snickered under her breath at his wasted vigil.
The next morning, Frank was up and ready, running out the door as fast as he could back to the corner of the yard..............but alas, his prey was long gone.
Frank, you will have many more hunting nights while you guard your backyard. Your Dog/Grandmother Charlotte is very proud of you!!
