*Frank and Frieda Spend Thanksgiving at Siesta Key, Florida*

Frieda and Frank are two very lucky little dachshunds, spending their Thanksgiving day with Dog/Daddy Steve in Siesta Key, Florida!
Dog/Daddy Steve decided to trek south for a long overdue vacation prior to starting a new job the beginning of December. Then it will be back to Atlanta for more Bulldog Security Patrol for these two lucky little dogs. They have earned a week in the sun due to their vigilant duty on Fulton Lane.............

*Oh No, A Water Monster On Fulton Lane*

Frank and Frieda are beside themselves regarding the new threat to their surveillance! It seems that Dog/Daddy Steve has a new toy! He decided to purchase a water power pressure machine to thoroughly clean the outside of his house. They have encountered geraniums, turtles, baby racoons, and handled them appropriately. But this new threat is going to require an entirely different strategy. This water monster is an entirely new threat to the security of their patrol area and quite an adversary. How do two highly trained Killer Dachshunds deal with this creature?

*Frank's Vigil: Bulldog Security Team Passes Test*

Sometimes Frank does not feel that his talents on the Bulldog Security Team are appreciated.
One recent evening on Fulton Lane, while Dog/Daddy Steve was attempting a quiet night at home, sipping a cold one and reading and listening to television Frank created an uproar in the back of the yard.
Dog/Daddy Steve went out to the patio and could not determine why Frank was on full alert and would not stop barking and barking. He also would not come on command, just bark, bark. bark. We all know that dachshunds love to bark, but this time it was different.
After a noisy several hours Dog/Daddy Steve just had to take the flashlight and find out what the problem was. Back in the corner of his yard Frank had cornered a baby racoon and would not allow the baby to leave the yard. Yikes, it was his first trapped prisoner and he was taking full advantage of it. The little racoon was trembling, with fear in it's eyes, and could not figure a way out of this dire situation.
Dog/Daddy Steve eventually had to intervene and pick up Frank so that the baby racoon could make it's hasty exit from the yard. Frank felt so defeated; he was finally proving his worth as an attack dog and now his capture was released. What's a dog to do??
Frank had a fitful night back in the house, worrying about his lost prey. Frieda teasingly snickered under her breath at his wasted vigil.
The next morning, Frank was up and ready, running out the door as fast as he could back to the corner of the yard..............but alas, his prey was long gone.
Frank, you will have many more hunting nights while you guard your backyard. Your Dog/Grandmother Charlotte is very proud of you!!

*Frieda, The Diva Princess of Posh Pillows*

Frieda was born to royalty, or divadom if you will, and she always demands royal treatment wherever she goes!
This photo taken on her recent road trip only illustrates the fact that she, as a puppy, knows that not only 800 thread count sheets are a must, but also the plumpest of posh pillows!

*Frieda and Frank..On The Road Again*

Frieda and Frank are now seasoned travelers! They spent the first night of their return to Atlanta in Lexington, Kentucky. Here they are enjoying the comforts of a nice motel. Of course, they dined in ordering room service.
Accompanying them was both their Dog/Daddy Steve and their Dog/Grandmama, the lovely and well-traveled Charlotte. She was anxious to see Atlanta again and to ride with the pups in the Jeep!

*Frank and Frieda Visit Baxter The Shelty*

Frank and his lovely wife Frieda finally got to meet Baxter, the most vicious Shelty in Armada. At first, there was the usual sniffing and barking, but then Baxter, being the sweet Dog/Cousin that he is greeted the two and invited them to have a run at the huge area he has to patrol.
The huge acreage that Baxter patrols is over 3 acres and he does it alone. After thoroughly investigating every aspect of this, the Dachshunds were impressed! They then stayed with their lovely Dog/Aunt Holly and Dog/Uncle Dwayne for several days in the Tundra. Baxter even shared his favorite dog toy, the Squeaky Ball!

*Finally The Field Trip..Following The Monsoon On Fulton Lane*

The weather has been horrible in Georgia, creating monsoon effects to the backyard of Dog/Daddy Steve's home. It would be impossible for the Bulldog Security Duo to safely patrol the backyard, they would have to swim. This would be especially difficult for Frieda with her petite size. They also would be unable to pick up the necessary sniffs and smells of possible intruders.
So off they go on a road trip to the Tundra to visit Dog/Daddy's family and their animal relatives.
They will travel half way tonight, stopping in Kentucky and will begin again in the morning. Dog/Daddy Steve has purchased a special cage for their travels. We will keep you updated on their travels and their road trip.
Priscilla Galore, the resident Cat/Dominatrix could not be happier! She now has the house all to herself and can do as she pleases without the constant interruptions of the Dachshunds. She likes to remind Dog/Daddy Steve that 'many years ago, cats were worshipped as Gods, and that Priscilla Galore has never forgotten than!

*DOG/DADDY STEVE'S WEEKEND OF SUNSHINE AND SURF

Being the good friend and neighbor that he is, Dog/Daddy Steve and his friend Dale helped the lovely Lisa move some furniture down to Florida. Here they are seen enjoying the evening sunset on the Gulf Coast.
Frieda and Frank are now in full lockdown mode on Fulton Lane where they will increase their patrols to ensure that Dog/Daddy Steve's home remains safe. They will, of course, be fed and watered by Steve's friends. They take their Bulldog Guard duty quite seriously, and hope to be rewarded with many treats when Dog/Daddy Steve returns.

*DOG/DADDY STEVE HAS A SECRET!!*

Readers, you can't allow this to get out to Frieda and Frank, but Dog/Daddy Steve is planning a road trip and taking both dogs!!! He will be putting them with him in his Jeep and traveling north to spend some time.
He will be stopping in Kentucky, which is half way to his destination so that all of them can rest, eat and have a few cold libations! The following morning they will be traveling to Michigan to see Dog/Daddy Steve's family and also their animal cousins.
They will stay with Dog/Grandma Charlotte and the Cats!! They have never met the cats before so this should be an interesting visit. They will also stay with Dog/Sister Holly and her family and will be greeted by Baxter, the family Sheltie.
This will be wonderful trip for all and they finally get to meet their animal cousins as well. Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming Road Trip!

*Frieda's "SHOCKING" Adventure

It happened recently on a hot summer night on Fulton Lane! Both Frieda and Frank are crazy about rawhide bones. They are given as a treat for good behavior by DogDaddy Steve. It was a routine night off from night patrol of the backyard and both vicious dogs were begging for a treat. DogDaddy Steve was surfing the internet and decided to give both dogs a rawhide bone as a treat. Frank likes to grab Frieda's bone and run and hide with both his and Frieda's bone and does so every chance he gets. Frieda, being wise to this tactic, grabbed her bone and ran under the bed to leisurely enjoy her treat.
All of a sudden DogDaddy Steve heard a loud yelping and crying sound as Frieda ran past him and Frank headed for her cage! She was literally shaking and crying with fear. At first DogDaddy Steve thought that maybe Frank had been a very bad dog and used 'excessive force' to obtain her bone. But no, there was Frank laying in the office chewing on his own bone. Frank didn't seem overly concerned either! Can you believe it? Men!!! (cried Frieda).
DogDaddy Steve stopped what he was doing and proceeded to find out what had caused this 'shocking' event. While savoring her treat, Frieda had chewed through a light cord that was under the bed! Shocking, to say the least. DogDaddy Steve then picked up the terrified little Frieda and held and comforted her until she was able to calm down. After assuring himself that Frieda was not injured, she was watched closely that night for any complications. It is now highly doubtful that Frieda will ever use that hiding spot again to enjoy her treats.

*The Mystery of the Whiteout on Fulton Lane*

There are just no words to explain the recent 'whiteout' on Fulton Lane! As you can see, there are Frieda and Frank staring into the window on Dog Daddy Steve's patio..........what on earth could have created this mess?
While on day patrol they happened to notice this while checking the patio during their Bulldog rounds. Could this have been caused by the same culprit that recently raided the geraniums?
Two different locations, of course, but nonetheless a disturbance missed by these two vicious dogs. What is going on in Atlanta on Fulton Lane?
Frieda states to Frank "maybe we could blame this on that damned cat, Priscilla Galore?" Frank then interjected, "nope, we'll probably take the blame for this one, Priscilla will 'rat' us out, yes she will".........oh the shame of it all!

*The Case Of The Missing Geraniums*

Dog/Daddy Steve loves to have his gorgeous yard, patrolled by the Bulldog Security team of Frank and Frieda, looking lovely at all times. Over the past weekend, he carefully nurtured and planted gorgeous geraniums to enhance the ambience of the yard.
Yesterday, upon arriving home from work, he noticed that the planters were still there, but the soil in them had been ravaged and the geraniums themselves were gone! Goodness, said Frank and Frieda, we have not a clue as to what happened to them. It is interesting to note that the lovely Frieda appeared with dirt around that sweet little face of hers! Were Frank and Frieda sleeping on patrol, or heaven forbid, have they now developed a love for the taste of geraniums??

*Frieda Joins Frank For Night Patrol*

I must say, we may have not been kind to Frieda in our last post, but we will try to correct that here. She is a Diva, through and through, but she also has her good qualities as Frank's wife.
Imagine, if you will, being under a foot tall with soft, brown eyes having to survey and protect a yard that in dog eyes is vast. Dog/Daddy Steve does have a large, well-cared for back yard that is properly fenced. But to Frank, being vertically challenged and having short but speedy legs, it is immense. It takes most of the day and frequent night patrols to ensure that the yard is not invaded by other dogs, nosey cats, squirrels that endlessly tease, birds that swoop down on unsuspecting dogs, and other critters and creatures of the night. Recently, one large turtle even attempted to invade the premises, but you know how slow turtles are.
It's an undertaking that only the most devoted dachshunds would take on and be so vigilant. It's not a job for the weak at heart or the lazy! Frank has always taken his patrol duties very seriously due in one part to his immense love for his master, Dog/Daddy Steve, and also due to the fact that he is rewarded with large, rawhide dog bones which he dispenses all over the yard.
Last night, our little Frieda joined Frank in her first night patrol! Can you believe it, there she was out all night with Frank ensuring that every inch of the vast terrain was protected. Priscilla Galore, the cat, is just enchanted that the two of them have decided to patrol together. It gives her free run of the house and total access to Dog/Daddy Steve's bed for the night................

*Frieda Convalesces At Home*

Ah, this is the lovely little Frieda convalescing at home after her recent hospitalization. If you ask Frank, she is taking full advantage of her DogDaddy, Steve, by lying on the sofa with her favorite blankie and appearing sad and in need of attention. Frank is whispering "Diva" under his breath so that no one hears it, but he knows what she is all about. Frank and the cat, Priscilla Galore, think this is a shameful way to get attention! When DogDaddy, Steve, is at work, she jumps off the sofa and runs around like her normal self. To top it all off, she sleeps with Steve now in another bid for attention. She also gets on the table on the patio and whines and cries for Steve to come out and lift her off. Shameful, totally shameful Diva Dog behavior!! Priscilla Galore even states to Frank "I don't even act like that for a piece of turkey!" Frank says "I know what you mean Pris, I don't do that for one of my dog bones".

*Heavens, Frieda Is Going For Easy Bake Oven Removal*

Oh my, the lovely Frieda has been scheduled for removal of her easy-bake oven next Thursday, May 7th at the Dog Spa!!! Keep the lovely Frieda in your prayers, animal lovers! Frank knows that this is so necessary, even if only to keep her from turning nasty 'that time of the month'! She also could very well start taking on the traits of her predecessor, the lovely Sissy! She could begin to hog Frank's toys and bones, and bare her teeth when Dog/Daddy Steve is not looking without this necessary surgical intervention. She could turn moody and grouchy and crave sweets. Even though Frank and Steve will miss her, she will be a better dachshund for it. You go girl, best wishes for an early recovery Frieda!!!

*Frank's Dog/Daddy, Steve*

This is a rather nice photo of Frank, prior to meeting the lovely Frieda, on the patio of his home with his Dog/Daddy Steve. Frank had been explaining his loneliness and the need for companionship to his Dog/Daddy and the lovely Charlotte, his Dog/Grandmother! With the understanding and compassion that comes from mutual animal lovers, and even though she is a TOTAL CAT FREAK, Charlotte convinced Steve that he needed to find a companion for Frank. This is reaffirmed and seconded by the lovely Holly, his Dog/Aunt, the mother of Baxter. Discussion was held over a few 'alcoholic' beverages, but was nonetheless, effective.............resulting in the purchase of the gorgeous Frieda!!

*Frank's Outdoor Post For Bulldog Guard Duty at Night*

This is a picture of Frank's outdoor Bulldog Guard House. He is able to spy squirrels, birds, cats and unknown intruders from this hideout. His Dog/Daddy Steve built it for him and even personalized it with his name! If he tires a little from his frequent yard runs, or if he is incognito or in disguise, he uses this as his hideout. He looks quite fetching in it don't you think? He recently posed for the lovely Holly, his Dog/Aunt. This is also far better than the cardboard boxes his Dog/Grandmother, the lovely Charlotte, gives to her cats (he he)!

*Frank's Recent Visitors From The Tundra*

Frank recently had visitors from the Tundra to see his Dog/Daddy. Above is the lovely Holly, who is his Dog/Aunt and loves to spoil Frank. At home, she has a husband, 2 boys who excel in sports and a gorgeous little Sheltie by the name of Baxter. They live on large acreage in Armada, MI. where Baxter runs free in a fenced yard. Baxter, however, is afraid of wind and rain, and well just about everything else, so he doesn't do all night Bulldog duty like Frank does. Baxter is even taken to a groomer (A dog hairdresser!!) if you can believe that?

My First Wife, The Former Sissy..........

I should mention that prior to my current wife, Frieda, I lived for a sort time with the lovely Sissy! Sissy was an older dachshund, a literal German Hausfrau who was very set in her ways and refused to bend. She didn't like to share my dog bones and frequently bared her teeth at me, especially when my DogDad, Steve, wasn't looking. She was a small, but mighty, little lady who passed over the Rainbow Bridge shortly after leaving our family. You are missed, Sissy!!

The Lovely Frieda Enters Frank's Life

At last, I have found a wife/dog who will love me for something other than my dog bones! The lovely Frieda entered my life on Friday, April 24th, 2009. My DogDaddy Steve was aware of my need for companionship and got me Frieda. Isn't she sweet? She is about 6 months old and weighs about 10 pounds. Over the weekend, we helped our DogDaddy plant a new garden in his yard. The cat, Priscilla, is not entirely thrilled with the addition to our family, but you know how cats are about 'territory'!

The Story and how it began.............

Once upon a time, in a land not far away, there lived a little dog by the name of Frank. He lived at a nice home in the suburbs of Atlanta with his dog daddy, Steve. Frank went to live with Steve in 2006 as a puppy and this is the deck where Steve relaxes and sips his Cervesa and Frank runs in the yard and barks and digs holes.
Currently, Frank is 18 pounds and 3 years old, and the best guard dog in the world. His DogDaddy even had to put a Bulldog guard sign out front due to the viciousness of Frank to warn any potential squirrels, black cats. or other intruders! Frank has pathways in Steve's yard and is vigilant about patrolling the yard, sometimes even working the entire night shift.
